This is the amazing result of our latest artistic experiment with children.
We called 3 girls and 2 boys, ages 6 to 11, and showed them the following original work by Jordi Pintó:

Physics, Metaphysics and Paraphysics of Nature, by Jordi Pintó. Do you like it?

While the children were looking at the painting, we asked them: PLOM: Let’s see, what is this? -A painting.
-A landscape… There are boats… The sea.
-A fishing village.
-With little paper boats  PLOM: Yes, it’s all that, but it’s also something else… -The what?
-What is it?  PLOM: Imagine it’s a machine that does fantastic things, an incredible invention, a device that achieves what no other device can achieve… -Like what?  PLOM: Well, let’s think a little… If this painting were a wonderful machine that does wonderful things, what do you think it would be able to do? PLOM: -It’s a storytelling machine.
-It’s a machine that makes us dream funny dreams at night.
-It’s a machine that makes me want to paint things.
-It makes my room prettier.
-It’s a magic television.
-It’s a window: you go in through there and go to other places.
-Or a door… So that they come to see us from other worlds… It’s a machine that makes colors… It makes you think when you look at it.
-It makes you feel good… It makes you smile… Et cetera, etcetera…

Artistic experiment: the results…

After analyzing all the answers from our children, we came to the following conclusion: works of art can be lots of things, but if they were high-tech gadgets, they would be called that:

  • Imaginative Flow Artistic Amplifier
  • Permanent Regulator of Creative Processes
  • Automatic Original Story Detector
  • Portable Artistic Stimulus Generator
  • Smart Growing Space Conditioner

At PLOM Gallery we have such devices that work great.
