Creatividad y naturaleza, una lucha por nuestro planeta
Olivia Mandle was one of our first students in 2018 when we started with the art extracurricular and she continues to join our online classes along with her brother Max whenever her studies and commitments allow her to do so. It is a pleasure to watch her work: she is curious about the proposals you make to her, she works with motivation….
In addition to music, art and dance, Olivia has a passion for the sea and has turned this passion into a struggle, a commitment.
Olivia y su causa
“I am an activist, and I fight for animal rights and for our planet. The sea is my world, dolphins my animal. I am happy and have no time to be bored. My imagination and a great curiosity for everything keep me always busy. I practice classical ballet. My creativity finds its place in art. Family is my treasure.
Since I was a little girl I have wanted to be a marine biologist and do what is best for the planet and the animals. I play with my imagination that I save a dolphin, a tiger, or that I put out forest fires. As I grew up I realized that the planet and the animals were getting worse and worse and that there are already people who are fighting for our actions and our thinking to change. I reflected and said that I wanted to be one of those people who speak for the planet and the animals, and make a difference.”
“I have a dream, my dream is called SUA -SAVE US ALL-, to create a Marine Sanctuary on the Costa Brava”.
This commitment to the planet and in particular to the sea leads him to participate, to create and be :
- Animal Activist & Climate Warrior.
- Create a Campaign on Change.org #noesPaisparaDolphins (#noesPaisparaDelfines) requesting that Spain has a law banning Dolphinariums. Click HERE to sign the petition!
- Fighting for a plastic-free Mediterranean by creating a tool called “Jelly Cleaner”.
- To be recognized as a Mini-Heroine by the Jane Goodall Institute.
During the past months when we had to stay at home, Olivia thought of doing a series of drawings this time dedicated to the planet earth. Her piece “EARTH” visually represents the bad moment the planet is also going through, of which we are the main cause, that affects us and will affect us if we do not make a change from now on.
“EARTH” means to her:
E : ENERGETiC
A : AMAZING
A: RESPECTFUL
T: TRUSTY
H: HAPPY
“With this series I want to raise awareness from the positive. It is a cry to value nature, a call to action and a reflection on the extremely beautiful, necessary and sensitive things that surround us.”
“EARTH, SEA, AIR, FAUNA, TREES:Each of the “concept-words” in this series, are of vital importance and are on the road to destruction: plastic-laden seas, polluted air, the importance of animals within the balance in our ecosystem, trees that are cut down creating future deserts and that we need for the absorption of Co2 emissions that are growing instead of decreasing…”
To help her in any way we can we launched the first print of this series; a piece of activist and solidarity art that we sell in our shop to raise money and donate it entirely to the CRAM Foundation, which works for the Conservation and Recovery of Marine Animals. You can buy it HERE.
We also recommend you to visit their website https://oliviamandle.com/es to learn more about the projects she is involved in and how you can help her.
THANK YOU Olivia for your commitment and generosity, your gestures and actions are for the benefit of the planet but above all for the benefit of all.
