Our first illustrated book is already in bookstores throughout Spain.
It is entitled “The Superpowers of Art. A messy story”. It has been published by Mosquito Books, in association with Plom Gallery. We haven’t stopped smiling in the last 48 hours.

We had been thinking about the idea of publishing a book under the Plom Gallery label for a long time . The opportunity finally came a couple of years ago, when we met Mía Cassany and Lluís Cassany, the people in charge of the publishing company Mosquito Books. We really liked Mosquito Books’ books, so we didn’t hesitate for a second when Mía and Lluís proposed us to collaborate with them in a project they were working on.

An illustrated and disorderly book

The project was an illustrated book about art.
It had a wonderful title: “A Messy History of Art”. And they had, also, a dozen wonderful illustrations, signed by Brianda Fitz James Stuart. They had to find an idea that would combine the title with the illustrations. The idea came to Pedro Calleja, a friend of ours and collaborator of this blog, journalist and advertising creative.
Without thinking twice, he proposed us to write a fictional story starring artists with superpowers.
Real artists, such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Frida Kahlo or Henri Matisse, entangled in a crazy plot in which time travel and action scenes abound.

The best of each house

Together we selected the artists who would appear in the book, while Pedro finished writing the stories starring each of them and Brianda drew the illustrations that were needed.
It was an exciting job, which culminated with the incorporation of the design studio Mucho, which was in charge of giving shape to the book.
Form and format, format and personality, personality and style. The result of all this waste of talent is “The Superpowers of Art”, our first illustrated book .
Come to see and touch it at Plom Gallery, maybe you will meet the authors!
