We visited a PLOM family living in Vilassar de Mar, in the region of El Maresme, 24 kilometers from Barcelona.
We entered a beautiful, bright, cozy little house.
Here, you can breathe Art in every corner.
We hear laughter and hurried footsteps.
Gala is a 4 year old girl: awake, observant, intuitive.
Her little brother, barely 1 year old, is called Gil: he loves to chase his big sister around the house.
Bárbara and Àlex are Gala and Gil’s mother and father.
They are both entrepreneurs, related to the world of fashion, communication and marketing.
BÁRBARA and ÀLEX: We believe in the Superpowers of Art.
Art is an educational and inspiring tool.
It sensitizes, helps and makes the little ones grow… And it also improves the older ones!
Collectors of original works
Gala, Gil, Bárbara and Àlex have been accumulating original works by various PLOM artists.
Right now, they have pieces by Ibie, Vanessa Linares, Miju Lee, Vall Karsunke and Eva Armisen. BÁRBARA: We liked them as soon as we saw them.
Since Gala and Gil were born, we have been giving them artwork for their birthdays.
Now that Gala is 4 years old, she chooses the paintings she likes the most.
4 people with 2 eyes each make 8 eyes.
8 eyes plus 4 sensitive little hearts, 4 pairs of hands and 4 pairs of feet, are enough for Gala, Gil, Bárbara and Àlex to enjoy the PLOM works of art in their own way.
GALA: My favorite painting is Sit, by Miju Lee. My brother, Gil, likes Jump by Ibie the most . ÀLEX: I would choose To protect you, by Eva Armisen. BÁRBARA: And I would choose Robocop, by Ibie.
Art inspires stories and provokes smiles
At Gala and Gil’s house, works of Art make you think and dream, laugh and smile, imagine stories and prepare celebrations.
BÁRBARA: Vanessa Linares ‘ watercolors tell you a story in the forest, with characters that make you imagine.
The phrases inside Eva Armisén ‘s paintings make you think and Ibie’ s paintings are full of joy: they transmit a humor that makes you smile without remedy.

Gala and Gil were the first 2 owners of a PLOM PIGGY BANK.
Our little piggy is not only cute on the outside, but it’s used to save and buy artwork.
BÁRBARA: When Martha Zimmermann showed it to us, even before it was marketed, we loved it.
We really liked the idea behind it.
Saving with a PLOM PIGGY BANK is about learning the value of things.
Someday, Gala and Gil will go to the PLOM Gallery with their piggy to buy a painting with what they have saved.
Other drawings available from the artist Vall Karsunke, similar to those of Gala and Gil, here y here.
Big artists, small artists
In Gala’s room there is a framed painting of hers, next to pieces by other artists that she likes the most.
ÀLEX: I discovered art when I grew up.
I’ve been more about numbers than art, but now I enjoy discovering and learning from it. BARBARA: I discovered art when I was a child.
I was passionate about colors, as Gala is now, and also about crafts.
At home there has always been art and I have always been curious about it.
Both Bárbara and Àlex are aware of the importance that art can have in the education of Gala and Gil, so they do not hesitate to encourage a taste for art.
ÀLEX: Art is a window permanently open to creativity, sensitivity and knowledge of other “dimensions” of life.
What do you think of PLOM Gallery?
BARBARA: It is a fantastic initiative for children and adults.
The proposal to educate in the values of art with the little ones and begin to have an artistic look and, above all, to be able to do it by the hand or with the guidance of some real experts… That is priceless.
Congratulations!
