Description
About the work and its artist… Olivia Mandle wishes and fights for a better planet: a planet earth that she now draws in black letters” because of the environmental crisis.
Meaning of “HOPE”
“As a cry that I carry personally and very intimately within me. The word hope is great. It is generous, it is humble. It is my last print of this activist series, and the one that connects with the base that makes me fight every day for the world around us.”
“It has not been chosen at random, but I knew all along that HOPE would be the piece to close the circle and to connect with “EARTH”, the mother earth.”
“Each letter is connected to one of the pieces: the H: It has an anchor drawn on it, meaning hope, but connected to the Sea.
The O: We see a white dove, another symbol of hope and peace, connected to the Fauna.
The P: The olive branch, eternal symbol of peace that connects with mother earth and with my first piece, Earth.
As well as with the need to end the wars between humans and end the “war” they have against the planet.
And finally the E: a rainbow, connecting us with FLORA with all that range of perfect and unique colors that nature has.”
